There are also two exceptions for traveling during prohibited periods
FLORENCE. Tuscany returns to yellow. From Sunday. But the freedom regained, going to a restaurant, bar, going for a walk or visiting a friend, will last four days. Until the 23rd inclusive. From Christmas Eve to including Epiphany -for 14 days in a row- Tuscans will also have to face the slalom between the red and orange zones that the government has imposed to avoid a new explosion of contagions due to excess contacts.
4 day respite
Consequently, the reopening of public establishments (until 6 pm), sports centers, all shops in Tuscany will be possible only for a few days before the end of the year. So much so that some mayors, starting with that of Florence, Dario Nardella, fear the concentrations and mass movements as of Sunday. And to avoid them they are taking measures. Nardella, for example, thinks of an (intensive) use of cameras and specific programs to signal “gatherings” in some areas, with a particular commercial and night-time vocation.
Conquest so as not to waste
However, for the President of the Region, Eugenio Giani, it is important that Tuscany has once again obtained the “yellow sticker”: that it is back in an area with a low risk of contagion, according to Minister Roberto Speranza before the start of the Minister council. on Christmas anti-Covid restrictive measures. “Having reached this goal – Giani emphasizes – does not authorize us to have irresponsible attitudes. On the contrary, I invite all Tuscans to have the virtuous behaviors that they have up to now: wear a mask, respect distance, have self-control, sanitize their hands.
Only in this way – Giani continues – will not invalidate the results obtained with the sacrifices of the last two months: the follow-up of those who have come into contact with people who have been positive for Covid-19 «increased from 37% to 100%; the daily infections that yesterday were 541, when for two consecutive times we reached peaks of 2,700 cases; we have gone from more than 2,200 occupied places in hospitals and intensive care to around 1,200 yesterday, with a reduction of a thousand places and so on ».
Yellow zone
It is thanks to these data that in the evening between Saturday and Sunday (immediately after midnight) Tuscany will once again enjoy a little freedom of movement. You can move between municipalities and even between regions also for tourism in Italy (but before December 21 or after January 6). Restaurants, bars, patisseries and ice cream parlors can reopen to the public from 5 pm to 6 pm. The rest of the commercial activities can remain open until 9:00 p.m. in accordance with health regulations. Stores within shopping centers and markets continue to have to close the blinds on holidays and the eve of holidays; Newsstands, pharmacies and parapharmacies, health centers, food and tobacco outlets are exempt from this restriction.
In the yellow zone it is also possible to reach the second house if both the first and the second house are both in a municipality in the yellow zone: in this sense, it is possible to “cross over” to other yellow regions. In the yellow zone, hunting and fishing (amateur or sport) can be practiced everywhere.
Red zone
From December 24 to January 6 for 10 days, the yellow Tuscany will be dyed red by order of the government. On 24-25-26-27 and on December 31 and then on 1-2-3-5 and on January 6, it is prohibited to travel not between municipalities, but also within your own municipality, except to return home (where you live or address). And you can go shopping, go to the pharmacy, go buy the newspaper. You can also take a walk whenever you are alone and close to home and even play sports but you know it alone.
Public shops can only carry until 10pm and deliveries to your home, without limits.
Orange zone
In the 4 business days of the Christmas period in which Tuscany will also be the orange zone (December 28, 29 and 30 and January 4) there are the same prohibitions in force on “red” days with two differences: open stores (those indicated by law) and the possibility of moving within their own municipality.
The exceptions
There are two exceptions allowed to travel even on red (and orange) days: 1) It is allowed to travel from “small” municipalities with a population that does not exceed 5,000 inhabitants for a distance of up to 30 kilometers as long as you do not go to a provincial capital; 2) from 5 to 22 two people (in addition to a child under 14 years old) can go to dinner / lunch with relatives with whom they do not live. The two people who do not live together can also go to dinner with relatives who do not live with a disabled person or non-self-sufficient partners with whom they live. –
