After the serological tests for the school world (from the staff to the students, with their families) starting next Monday, December 21, the quick swabs arrive at the pharmacy, with results in 15 minutes, for the second, massive screening campaign , always voluntary and free, sought by the Emilia-Romagna Region to strengthen the fight against Coronavirus. An action possible thanks to the agreement with the territorial associations of public and private affiliated pharmacies, carried out with a specific objective: to test more and more people, intercept new asymptomatic positives as soon as possible and extinguish the root outbreaks, starting with the from school and family.
One week after the signing of the agreement, 374 out of 1,349 (this morning) are public or private affiliated pharmacies that have already joined the initiative, 28% of the total present in the region, increasing by the hour. In Piacenza, 31 pharmacies responded positively (32% of the total).
To carry out the test it is necessary, as of December 21, to make an appointment with the pharmacist, consulting the list of members on the website of the Region https://salute.regione.emilia-romagna.it/antigenico-farmacie .
The pharmacist will be in charge, during the reservation phase, of informing the citizen that the activity will be carried out in self-diagnosis. In the case of minors, a parent or guardian must give their consent and be present to test the minor himself. The activity will always be carried out in compliance with all safety measures, from the mandatory and correct use of the mask, which will be lowered only at the time of taking and then repositioned correctly, to hand sanitization, from temperature control body to spacing. Precisely because it is a screening aimed only at people without symptoms, for the safety of citizens and pharmacists, the test cannot be performed if in the last 10 days you have had close contact with people affected by Covid-19, if you have a fever over 37 , 5 ° C or respiratory symptoms. For citizens in these conditions, there are other active paths.
More than 2 million citizens, from children to adults, potentially affected by the new epidemiological investigation, which will continue until June 30, 2021 (possibly extendable) and will offer the possibility to all recipients to repeat the test once a month. And 374 pharmacies have already joined from Piacenza to Rimini just one week after signing the agreement, but the list, which can be consulted on the Region’s website https://salute.regione.emilia-romagna.it / antigenic -pharmacies, is constantly updated. As of Monday, therefore, it will be possible to make an appointment for the rapid self-administered swab with the qualified assistance of the pharmacist.
The recipients, in addition to the pharmacists who participate in the project, are the same citizens of the screening with rapid serological tests started on October 19 and still in progress, which has already involved 326,000 people and has detected positivity to Coronavirus after confirmation with molecular swab in approximately 600 people (0.2%), thus deactivating the possible appearance of as many outbreaks.
The invitation to participate, valid for citizens who have health care in the region, is therefore addressed to all schoolchildren and students from 0 to 18 years of age and to adults who attend upper secondary education, with their parents ( even if they are separated and / or not living together and guardians / custodians), brothers and sisters and other members of the family who are living together, as well as grandparents who are not living together; university students who have a GP in Emilia-Romagna and those who, although they attended here, attend universities outside the region. And again: the personnel of the educational services 0-3 years and the school personnel of all levels, including the training organizations that impart the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Itineraries and the students who assist them.
The economic investment in the region is substantial and will reimburse the pharmacies € 16.76 for each test, including the supply of material, personal protective equipment and payment for the service.

Test result
The pharmacist will register the data of the person subjected to the test in the Regional Pharmacy Portal; the result is sent to the public health doctor of the local health service and to the family doctor. In case of positivity, the citizen must remain isolated at home avoiding contact with other people, waiting to be contacted by telephone by the Public Health Services of his Ausl to perform the nasopharyngeal molecular swab, which may confirm or not the presence. of the virus.
