It will be a Christmas and the end of 2020 in an almost complete lockdown. After a long negotiation within the government between the rigorist wing deployed for an uninterrupted total closure of the country from December 21 to January 6 and the doubts of Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, a possible compromise has been reached that should avoid the danger of a third wave of coronavirus infections in January. The result should be the country in the red zone for eight days (December 24-27 and December 31-January 3) and in the yellow zone for three: December 28, 29 and 30. Today, a summit between Conte and majority heads of delegation will launch the new anti-Covid grip. Here are the rules that must be followed.
From December 21 to January 6: movement between Regions prohibited
In the first place, it must be remembered that, regardless of the greater tightening that the Government will dictate in the next few hours, the regulations introduced by the Dpcm on December 3 remain in force: “From December 21, 2020 to January 6, 2021 it is prohibited , within the national territory, any movement within or outside the territories of different regions or autonomous provinces “. During this period, it will be possible to move between different municipalities / provinces / regions only for work, necessity or health reasons.

Red zone: from December 24 to 27 and from December 31 to January 3
According to the scheme envisaged by the Government, Italy will spend most of the holidays in a new blockade. The “red zone” restrictions will begin on December 24-27 and will resume from the last day of the year (December 31) through Sunday, January 3. Total: eight days.
During this period, any movement will be prohibited, except those motivated by work needs, situations of need (for example the purchase of necessary goods) or health reasons. Visiting or meeting with family or friends who do not live together, in any place, open or closed will not be allowed. Bottom line: without a valid reason to go out, it is mandatory to stay home. An exception, in the case of separated or divorced couples, is to travel to reach minor children with the other parent or take them with them: they are also allowed between municipalities in different areas. You should always be able to show that the move is within the allowed range (even with a self-declaration). You can take a walk even if it is only in the vicinity of your house and you can take your dog out without crowds and keeping a distance of at least one meter from other people.
All restaurants and other catering businesses, including bars, patisseries and ice cream parlors, remain open exclusively for the sale of take away food (allowed from 5 am to 10 pm). The retail trade has closed, except for the sale of food and essential items, although there are many exceptions: pharmacies, opticians, electronics and toy stores, hardware stores, laundries, perfumeries, bookstores, stationery stores, kiosks, vending machines.
