The epidemic curve in Tuscany remains stable. New cases found compared to 12,190 molecular swabs and 4,569 rapid tests performed
FLORENCE – The new cases of positivity to Covid registered in the last 24 hours in Tuscany are increasing, although slightly 489 (yesterday 332). The molecular swabs performed since yesterday were 12,190 (8,572 yesterday) and rapid tests 4,569 (4,135 yesterday). On the other hand, 3,808 subjects evaluated today (excluding control swabs), of which 12.8% were positive. To these are added the 4,569 rapid antigenic swabs that are currently being made.
So even if there were fewer new cases yesterday than today, a lot more swabs were done, so the incidence remains stable. In total there are 113,610 Tuscans infected with Sars-Cov2 since the start of the health emergency, that is, since February.
In the last 24 hours, however, there have been 47 other victims, the death toll showing no signs of abating. 22 men and 25 women died with an average age of 81.3 years. The deceased lived 7 in Florence, 3 in Prato, 4 in Pistoia, 4 in Massa Carrara, 7 in Lucca, 6 in Pisa, 3 in Livorno, 10 in Arezzo, 1 in Grosseto, 2 residents outside of Tuscany.
New cases are 0.4% more than the total of the previous day. The average age of 489 cases today is Approximately 49 years (12% are under 20 years old, 22% between 20 and 39, 34% between 40 and 59, 22% between 60 and 79, 10% are 80 or older).
People currently positive about Covid in Tuscany are 15,035, -7.6% compared to yesterday. Of these 1,303 are hospitalized (67 less than yesterday), of which 202 in ICU (12 less).
Others 13,732 people are isolated in their homes, since they present mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment or are asymptomatic (1,162 less than yesterday, less 7.8%).
Those cured grew 1.8%, 1,671 more than yesterday and reach 95,290 (83.9% of all cases).

555 positive cases were reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions. Today 185 cases have been found in the Central Local Health Authority, 223 in the Northwest, 81 in the Southeast.
Tuscany ranks 10th in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with around 3,046 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (the Italian average is 3,099 x 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The notification provinces with the highest rate are Prato with 3,859 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Pisa with 3,783, Massa Carrara with 3,746, and the lowest Siena with 1,722.
