The coronavirus positivity index remains stable in Campania: today the virus is registering 647 positives out of 8,441 swabs performed, 441 less than yesterday but with 7,031 less processed swabs. In percentage, it means that 7.66% of the tests are positive, 0.6 percentage points more than yesterday when the contagion index had stopped at 7.03%. Of all these newly infected, 579 are asymptomatic and only 68 have symptoms. After the November record with 99,579 positive swabs, therefore, the month of December begins with a significant slowdown derived from the decrees and ordinances of recent days.
More generally, the total of positives amounts to 175,700 about 1,830,136 swabs processed, while the number of victims rises to 2,390 with the 50 deaths registered yesterday, although the crisis unit is quick to specify that “these have died previously.” In contrast, the number of hospital admissions improved: 1,720 hospitalized with symptoms, 76 less than yesterday and 123 patients in intensive care, 11 less than yesterday. And the number of cured patients is also growing, from 80,043 to 83,068 with 3,025 negative in 24 hours.
