Dear manager,
as I have explained several times in recent weeks, Forza Italia is an integral part of the center-right in opposition to the Conte government. An opposition that arises from the facts, from a profoundly alternative political vision and from a critical judgment on many aspects of the executive’s work in these dramatic months for the country. But being an opposition to a political movement like ours, based on liberal, Christian, pro-European and guarantor principles, in no way means encouraging “the worse the better”, in the hope of reaching a consensus on the difficulties in Italy. Nor does it mean dedicating ourselves to more or less effective parliamentary tactics for our positioning. On the contrary, in the clarity of our opposition role, it means working for Italy, trying to protect – by finding the necessary convergences – the sectors and categories most affected by the crisis. We have done it by voting in recent weeks on the budget gap, not a support to the government but a concrete act to help those least guaranteed by the crisis, that is, the self-employment sector, professionals, commerce, crafts, the small company.
Our battle for self-employment will continue because of the budget law, which we will not be able to vote anyway, because it would be an act of political confidence in the government. However, Forza Italia is working to get some changes, once again, to protect the less guaranteed categories and areas. We have identified two areas to prioritize. The first is once again that of the self-employed, professions, CIF, merchants and craftsmen. The other is the young, our children, a generation dramatically penalized by the parallel crisis in education and the labor market, strongly aggravated by the pandemic. For professionals and self-employment, our request is at least 2 / 2.5 billion between the budget law and the next deviation scheduled for January. An important figure, destined to tax and tax relief for those who have suffered loss of business volume.
Our goal is to reach a kind of fiscal “white year”, as we have been asking for months, for the many who have seen their income reduced or even zero. Regarding young people and work, I consider it necessary to invest significant resources for the reconversion of higher technical education, for digitization, by financing special vouchers – I remember thatigitale is one of the tragedies of our country, especially in some southern areas – and to guarantee school equality, which is the freedom of all to choose the educational offer. The egalitarian school, which plays a valuable social function, is the great forgotten of this crisis. Concrete proposals, which we once again make available to the country. Forza Italia with our center-right friends has drawn them to the attention of Parliament, with the amendments that we have tabled and is proposing them again in the talks that we are carrying out with the Government in recent days with our fellow opposition. I want to be as optimistic as possible. I am confident that beyond the reasons for alignment we can find a convergence in the specific needs of the country. For our part, we will do everything possible, as always, not for a political party but for the Italians.
