As is often the case, the gaze will focus mainly on the flat areas of the North, especially those of Piedmont, Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna and Veneto, but locally also the plains of Tuscany and the valleys of the Apennines on the Tyrrhenian side: in all these sectors there can be inconveniences for road traffic, precisely because of the strong reductions in visibility.
Among the urban centers with the highest risk fog we will have, in particular, Alessandria, Milan, Cremona, Lodi, Mantua, Ferrara, Piacenza, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Bologna, Rovigo and Verona. Some coastal areas will also be at risk, such as Rimini and Ravenna. In the suburbs and open country areas of these cities, visibility can be even less than 50 meters.
For this reason, we recommend the utmost caution to those who will travel on roads and highways during the next few days, since fog It can also affect important highway arteries, such as the A1, particularly in the section between Piacenza and Bologna.
Unfortunately, as already mentioned above, there will not only be the problem linked to visibility reductions, but also the increase in pollutants in cities with the consequent deterioration in air quality: cities such as Milan, Turin, Bologna, Verona, Rome and Naples.
