(ANSA) – REGGIO CALABRIA, DECEMBER 14 – Antonino Castorina, councilor of the Democratic Party elected in the September elections, was arrested and placed under house arrest by Digos agents from the Reggio Calabria Police Headquarters as part of the investigation on the conduct of the recent administrative. The arrest was carried out at the request of the Reggio Calabria prosecutor, Giovanni Bombardieri, the deputy Gerardo Dominijanni and the prosecutor Paolo Petrolo.
A similar precautionary measure was issued against a bank president, Carmelo Giustra. The precautionary prison order was notified in the early morning in both Castorina and Giustra. The latter, as it emerged, would have helped Castorina to violate electoral legislation. At the moment, the investigations do not question the electoral result and the victory of Mayor Giuseppe Falcomatà but only refer to the position of Antonino Castorina, who is also a member of the national leadership of the Democratic Party. With 1,510 votes collected in the September elections, Castorina was the most voted councilor from the center left. (HANDLE).
