Reggio Calabria: The ongoing arrests concerned a newly elected city councilor, Castorina Antonino, and the president, Giustra Carmelo
In the early hours of today, as a result of the complex and detailed investigations carried out by Digos di Reggio calabria and coordinated by the Reggio Calabria Prosecutor, the agents of the Police Headquarters, with the support of the Reggio Calabria Post and Telecommunications Police Department and the Calabria Crime Prevention Department, have implemented an order for the application of a personal precautionary measure, against two suspects, issued by the Preliminary Investigative Judge of the Reggio Calabria Court, in the context of the investigations that involved the recent administrative elections of Reggio calabria, with disputes of multiple cases of falsification in public deeds and electoral crimes.
The ongoing arrests concerned a newly elected councilor, Castorina Antoninus, and the president, Giustra Carmelo, from one of the polling stations where it was found, illegal operations related to the expression of the vote were carried out.
The two suspects were placed under house arrest.
Searches are being carried out on the two detained suspects, as well as other individuals registered in the Suspect Register.
The operations, by the DIGOS of the Reggio Calabria Police Headquarters, continue with the examination of the electoral material already seized and with the analysis of what was seized in the course of a raid in order to identify more perpetrators.
