A possible new squeeze looming during Christmas week. The government is considering intervening with new, more restrictive measures on the days of Christmas through New Years, perhaps closing restaurants, bars and shops. In fact, we are thinking about a tightening of the anti-contagion rules on holidays and before holidays: the idea on the table is to make all of Italy a red or orange zone on the days of greatest risk. The only exception is an exception to travel between small municipalities on December 25, 26 and January 1: those who live in cities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants may have the opportunity to travel outside the municipality within 30 kilometers.
The hypothesis, which emerged at the end of the meeting of the heads of delegation, is to adopt homogeneous rules throughout Italy, with a tightening of the provisions as will happen in Germany, to avoid the third wave. The images of which the commissioner for the emergency Bows defined “unbearable gatherings” in the commercial streets of many cities, but also the 20 thousand infections and 500 deaths a day and the decision of German Chancellor Angela Merkel to break the delay and launch the general closure, to push the government to change This rhythm could materialize in the next few hours, with a series of interventions aimed at preventing Christmas and the New Year from becoming the trigger for the third wave of the virus.
Shopping and snacks, crowds everywhere. Trevi fountain closed. Arcuri: “Unbearable meetings”. Urgent summit tomorrow with Cts and Lamorgese
by Alessandra Ziniti
For tomorrow, in fact, a meeting is scheduled between the heads of the majority delegation, the CTS and the Minister of the Interior. Luciana Lamorgese and the Minister of Regional Affairs, Francesco Boccia. The meeting, at the proposal of the head of delegation of Cinquestelle and Minister of Justice Alfonso Bonafede, aims to take stock of the current situation from the point of view of health risk and understand if there are particular concerns related to the risk of meetings in the coming days.
The hypothesis of a possible relaxation, so much advocated by the Regions, seems to be fading. The whole government, in fact, seems to want to marry the line of sanctioners, the ministers Roberto Speranza and Francesco Boccia which have long reaffirmed the need to avoid any opening to avoid the much feared third wave between January and February.
