Florence, December 13, 2020 – Of the 4,250 new people screened, excluding control swabs, 673 coronavirus cases that have emerged in the last twenty-four hours throughout Tuscany. Therefore, the result was positive 15.68 percent of those who were controlled.

Since the beginning of the health emergency in February, Tuscany yesterday broke the wall of one million people undergoing examinations (today 1 million and 5,473) and in total, even with control or repeated swabs, 1,718,159 exams only 12,416 on the last day (plus 1,887 rapid antigenic swabs) with 5.4 percent positive results within 24 hours.

The average age of the 673 new positive cases in today’s bulletin is around 48 years old: 14% are under 20, 24% between 20 and 39, 30% between 40 and 59, 21% percent between 60 and 79 and 11 percent 80 years or more.

According to the province of residence or domicile, since the beginning of the epidemic there are 31,391 total cases registered in the territory of the metropolitan city of Florence (214 more than yesterday), 9,875 in Prato (61 more), 9,951 in Pistoia (57 more) , 7,202 in Massa Carrara (64 more), 11,424 in Lucca (75 more), 15,676 in Pisa (90 more), 7,837 in Livorno (42 more), 10,013 in Arezzo (35 more), 4,539 in Siena (18 more) and 3,881 in Grosseto (17 more). There are also 555 positive cases reported in Tuscany, but from residents in other regions.




In detail, there are 348 cases in today’s bulletin that refer to the Central Asl, 255 to the Northwest, 70 to the Southeast.

Tuscany currently ranks 10th in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with about 3,012 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (the Italian average is about 3,025 per 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The reporting provinces with the highest rate are Prato with 3,832 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, Pisa with 3,741, Massa Carrara with 3,696, while the lowest is Siena with 1,699.

People who are isolated at home, because they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment or because they are symptom-free, decreased in one day by 928, a decrease of 5.3 percent, and as previously written there are 16,715 cases.

In isolation under active surveillance, although not positive but due to the fact of having had contact with infected people, there are another 28,102 Tuscans: 8,948 in the ASL Toscana Centro, 14,427 in the Northwest and 4,727 in the Southeast. bottom: 550 less than yesterday, 1.9 percent less.




Net drop in hospitalizations

Of the people admitted to beds dedicated to Covid patients, which today are 1,399 in total (50 less than yesterday, less 3.5%), 219 are currently in intensive care (9 less than yesterday, despite ten new accesses, minus 3.9 percent of the balance).

Among those declared cured –91,079 (1,617 more than yesterday, plus 1.8%) – the majority (90,626, 1,579 more than yesterday, plus 1.8%) are in force, the so-called viral cures with negative swab, while 453 ( 38 more than yesterday, more 9.2 percent) are currently only clinically, that is, they have become asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with the infection.
