Crime in the square of San Giacomo di Veglia: It happened yesterday afternoon, around 9:45 p.m., in front of the headquarters of the Banca della Marca, in Piazza Fiume.

A 72-year-old man, a resident of Colle Umberto, was stabbed for reasons that would seem trivial. They found him dead next to a white pickup truck, a Fiat Fiorino, parked in front of the old Sauro school.

According to an initial reconstruction of the events, the alleged culprit, a forty-year-old from Conegliano, left his car, an old Punto model with damaged bodywork, in the church parking lot and walked to the place where the crime occurred. The carabinieri at Vittorio Veneto station detained him while he was hiding near his car, near the church.

At the crime scene it is possible to glimpse the van with obvious traces of blood. At this time, several Carabinieri patrols are analyzing the area and tracking the movements of the two people involved. In particular, the police are looking for the murder weapon, a leaf, which, for the moment, they have yet to find.
