The uphill curve
The government’s proposal or more likely the majority will be minimal, limited to the maximum. For the moment we would like to limit ourselves to neighboring municipalities. The clear reason: if after the holidays the contagion curve rises again, it cannot be said that the fault lies with the executive. Boccia says it explicitly: Parliament evidently sovereign, and if Parliament decides in its entirety to eliminate the limits between municipal limits leaving everything open, whoever does so will answer for it before the people who instead demand rigor and that we intend to guarantee.
The current prohibitions
At the moment it is planned that you will not be able to leave your municipality on December 25 and 26 and January 1. It is not ruled out that in the end it is decided to leave freedom of movement only at Christmas. That this discussion comes out suddenly, just for three days of celebration in which we have simply applied rules that have been in force for a month and a half – Boccia emphasizes – should make us think a lot about the attempt to always look for the shortcut at one point in time. that is the only way to guarantee the protection of people’s health and lives. I repeat this because neither I, nor Minister Speranza nor the other members of the government intend to deviate from the rigor and defense of the most fragile. One thing to clarify, and it can be done if there is a possibility of a passage between Spinazzola and Minervino because there are families on the borders; another to say that we remove the limits for everyone to go where they want because there is no exemption from celebrating Christmas.
The center-right in the Senate
If the government does not present its proposal by Monday, the center-right motion will be discussed in the Senate, which proposes lifting the ban in three days.
