TOAST – In Puglia, the pandemic is still on its plateau. Between ups and downs, the trend for Covi-19 infections has now stabilized for a couple of weeks, awaiting a decline in the curve. In the last 24 hours, 1,478 new cases have been registered. The swabs performed were 10,209. The encouraging figure, which has been consolidating for days, is the gradual reduction in pressure on the health system. Currently 1781 patients are hospitalized: one less than the 1872 of yesterday. On the other hand, under the heading of cures, there is + 190. As for the province of Brindisi, after the record of 216 infections reached yesterday, there is a clear trend reversal. In the last 24 hours, in fact, 44 positive swabs were recorded in the Brindisi area.
This is the situation of new infections at the regional level: 538 in the province of Bari, 44 in the province of Brindisi, 253 in the province of BAT, 255 in the province of Foggia, 92 in the province of Lecce, 281 in the province of Taranto, 6 residents outside the region, 9 cases of province of unknown residence. 43 deaths were recorded: 4 in the province of Bari, 28 in the province of Bat, 1 in the province of Brindisi, 9 in the province of Foggia, 1 in the province of Lecce.
Since the beginning of the emergency, 888,498 tests have been performed: 18,650 recovered patients; 51,236 are currently positive cases. The total number of positive Covid cases in Puglia is 71,797, divided as follows: 27,455 in the province of Bari; 8,364 in the province of Bat; 5,315 in the province of Brindisi; 16,022 in the province of Foggia; 5,513 in the province of Lecce; 8,633 in the province of Taranto; 441 attributed to residents outside the region; 54 province of unknown residence.
Asl’s Prevention Departments have activated all the procedures for the acquisition of anamnestic and epidemiological information, with the aim of tracing close contacts.

ASL Bat Director Alessandro Delle Donne clarifies: “Today’s death toll in Bat province is derived from a file update that will be completed in the coming days. That is why it is a value above the weekly average, because it contains information collected from last month to today. We are proceeding with this update and therefore for the consolidated data it will be necessary, as always, to evaluate the weekly trend in the coming days ”.
The situation in the province of Brindisi
Between the Brindisi and Ostuni hospitals, 81 Covid patients are currently hospitalized (one more than yesterday). The White City Hospital 14 people in Internal Medicine and 13 in Pulmonology. Al Perrino, on the other hand, there are 16 patients in infectious diseases, 15 in pulmonology, 15 in internal medicine, 8 in resuscitation. Yesterday a death: an 89-year-old patient in the Ostuni Pulmonology ward. The Post Covid welcomes 12 patients in Mesagne, 6 in Ceglie Messapica, 5 in Cisternino.
