Significant increase in swabs processed in Apulia revealing a significant percentage drop in infections: only 12% of tests are in fact positive, according to information compiled by the Department of Health Promotion.
In the last 24 hours, 11,168 swabs were processed for the Covid-19 coronavirus infection and 1,332 positive cases were recorded: 266 in the province of Bari, 130 in the province of Brindisi, 289 in the province BAT, 314 in the province of Foggia , 165 in the province of Lecce, 157 in the province of Taranto, 7 residents outside the region, 4 cases of province of unknown residence.
There are 55 deaths: 15 in the province of Bari, 1 in the province of BAT, 27 in the province of Foggia, 3 in the province of Lecce, 7 in the province of Taranto, 2 residents outside the region.
867,066 tests have been carried out since the start of the emergency. Cured patients amount to 17,870 while currently 48,802 are positive.
The total number of Covid cases in Puglia is 68,506, divided as follows: 26,250 in the province of Bari; 7,779 in the province of Bat; 5,056 in the province of Brindisi; 15,509 in the province of Foggia; 5,318 in the province of Lecce; 8,133 in the province of Taranto; 428 attributed to residents outside the region; 33 in the province of unknown residence.
Asl’s Prevention Departments have activated all the procedures for the acquisition of anamnestic and epidemiological information, in order to trace close contacts.
The Councilor for Health Policies, Pier Luigi Lopalco, clarifies the deaths reported in today’s bulletin: “They do not reflect the daily trend that sees a weekly peak of 36 deaths (see attached graph) on December 4. In fact, keep in mind that the daily bulletin only reports what was entered into the system that day and not the date of the event. ”
