The spouses are being investigated for complicity in corruption together with the former director of ASL Roma 3, Vitaliano De Salazar, and the former regional councilor, Michele Baldi, for five years leader of the Zingaretti List. Il Fatto Quotidiano explains that Michele Baldi, after not being chosen for the 2018 Regionals, was hired (from November 1, 2018 to December 31, 2019) on the staff of the Governor of the Lazio Region, Nicola Zingaretti.
