In Sicily, new infections are back at more than a thousand, 1,059 to be precise at 9,526 swabs (11.1% of the positivity rate), but on the island the current positives (people who currently have Covid) are decreasing every second. consecutive day (-1,678). This is due to the large number of cured, 2,705 (never so many in a single day), but also to the 32 new victims. Observing the curve of the cured, in the last days in Sicily there have been “anomalous” figures. At least extremely high compared to the past, when it was said that “in Sicily there is little cure”. The causes of this change in course are not yet clear.

Airport, from tomorrow rapid tests for all arriving passengers
Covid emergency: starting tomorrow, the intervention plan drawn up by the general director of the ASP, Daniela Faraoni, and by the commissioner for the Covid emergency, Renato Costa, will be activated at Palermo airport to prevent the spread of Covid during the next vacation. In the Covid-19 testing area (formerly the Rent a Car area), which can be reached by following the signs just outside the arrivals hall, there will be three teams, each comprised of twenty doctors, who will participate in three shifts. At the 15 workstations built by Gesap in the 1,000-square-meter test area, quick swabs can be performed for all passengers arriving from 6.30am to midnight. Positive antigens, on the other hand, will be subjected to a molecular swab at the same site, as required by the health protocol for definitive verification.
Before taking the test, it will be necessary to fill in the registration / pre-acceptance forms, available online at the link: https://www.aeroportodipalermo.it/test-covid19-form/ and in paper format at the information point at the arrivals hall and the entrance to the Covid testing area. By completing and submitting the online registration form, it will be possible to significantly shorten the waiting times for health exams. Registration does not give rise to a reservation order. To take the test, which will be free, it is mandatory to show the boarding pass. At the information point in the arrivals hall it will be possible to present the molecular or unhealthy test certificate, with a negative result. “Gesap renews its participation and collaboration with the Sicilian health authority in the plan to combat the virus – says Giovanni Scalia, CEO of Gesap, the management company of Falcone Borsellino – putting the safety of passengers disembarking in Palermo at the forefront, thanks also to a structure of one thousand square meters designed for the optimization and management of all phases of health screening ”.
