Florence, December 8, 2020 – En Tuscany there are 109,418 cases of positivity in Coronavirus428 more than yesterday. New cases are 0.4% more than the total of the previous day. Those cured grew 3.1% and reached 80,461 (73.5% of all cases). The swabs performed reached 1,661,394, 8,110 more than yesterday, of which 5.3% positive.
I am instead 2,730 subjects tested today (excluding control swabs), of which the 15.7% it tested positive. To these are added the 3,001 rapid antigenic swabs that are made today. Today’s positives are 26,024, -7.3% compared to yesterday. There are 1,588 hospitalized (30 less than yesterday), of which 253 in intensive care (stable). Unfortunately, 35 new ones are registered today deceased: 17 men and 18 women with an average age of 82.7 years.
The average age of 428 cases is currently around 48 years (14% are under 20, 23% between 20 and 39, 28% between 40 and 59, 24% between 60 and 79, 11% are 80 years or older) .

The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change from yesterday. There are 30,575 cases in total to date in Florence (99 more than yesterday), 9,654 in Prato (54 more), 9,654 in Pistoia (51 more), 6,952 in Massa (41 more), 11,072 in Lucca (23 more), 15,233 in Pisa (73 more), 7,659 in Livorno (29 more), 9,826 in Arezzo (26 more), 4,425 in Siena (18 more), 3,813 in Grosseto (14 more). 555 positive cases were reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions.
There are 208 cases found today in the Central Local Health Authority, 162 in the Northwest, 58 in the Southeast.
Tuscany ranks 10th in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with about 2,934 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (Italian average of 2,887 x 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The provinces with the highest notification rate are Prato with 3,746 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Pisa with 3,635, Massa Carrara with 3,567, and the lowest Siena with 1,656.
People in isolation and evolution of hospitalizations
In total, 24,436 people are isolated at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or do not have symptoms (2,030 less than yesterday, 7.7% less). There are 31,325 (291 less than yesterday, less 0.9%) people, also isolated, in active surveillance because they have had contact with infected people (ASL Center 10,198, Northwest 15,420, Southeast 5,707).
The people hospitalized in the beds dedicated to COVID patients today are a total of 1,588 (30 less than yesterday, less 1.9%), 253 in intensive care (stable compared to yesterday). The total number of cured people is 80,461 (2,453 more than yesterday, plus 3.1%): 434 people clinically cured (20 more than yesterday, plus 4.8%), that is, they were asymptomatic after presenting associated clinical manifestations Infection and 80,027 (2,433 more than yesterday, more 3.1%) declared cured in all aspects, the so-called viral cures, with negative swab.
The deaths

Tuscany’s crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 78.6 x 100,000 residents versus 100.4 x 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region). Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (169.8 x 100,000), Florence (103.7 x 100,000) and Prato (81.1 x 100,000), the lowest in Grosseto (29.3 x 100,000).
