Francesco Gaudeano, 37, from Varano Marchesi is the youngest victim of the coronavirus in our territory since the start of the pandemic. He had been isolated in his home for ten days: suddenly the deterioration of his health conditions and death that shocked the entire community.
In the last 24 hours, 149 new cases have been registered in Parma and its province, a figure in line with those of the last week. There have also been three deaths in the same period. One of the three dead was 37 years old. The other two men aged 70 and 78.
Since the start of the coronavirus epidemic, 135,651 positive cases have been registered in Emilia-Romagna, 1,891 more than yesterday, out of a total of 9,865 swabs made in the last 24 hours. The percentage of new positives over the number of swabs made since yesterday is 19.2%.
The control and prevention activity continues: of the newly infected, 1,068 are asymptomatic identified as part of the regional contact tracing and detection activities. Overall, among the new positives 518 were already isolated at the time of swab execution, 688 were identified within known foci.
The average age of new positives today is 46.5 years.
Of the 1,068 asymptomatic, 599 were identified through contact tracing, 83 through tests for risk categories introduced by the Region, 25 through serological tests, 18 through pre-admission tests. An epidemiological investigation for 343 cases is still ongoing.
The contagion situation in the provinces sees Modena with 414 new cases, Bologna (276), Reggio Emilia (227), Ravenna (219), Rimini (193), Parma (149), Piacenza (118), Ferrara (103) , hence the territories of Cesena (81), Imola (59) and Forlì (52).
These are the data – verified today at 12 o’clock on the basis of institutional requests – related to the evolution of the epidemic in the region.
In the last 24 hours, 9,865 swabs were made, for a total of 2,232,336. To these are added 1,124 serological tests and 327 quick swabs performed since yesterday.
As for the total of people cured, they are 519 more than yesterday and reach 59,951.
Active cases, that is, actual patients, to date are 69,481 (+1,315 compared to yesterday). Of these, people in isolation at home, or those with mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment or are asymptomatic, account for a total of 66,437 (+1,248), 95.6% of the total active cases.
Unfortunately, there are 57 new deaths: 20 in Bologna (12 men of which two are 83 years old, two 88 years old and the remaining 59, 61, 68, 76 77, 85, 90 and 97 years old and 8 women, two of whom They are 95 years old and the remaining 77, 79, 85, 87, 90 and 93 years) 10 in Ravenna (7 women of 85, 86, 87, 89, 93, 96 and 99 years old and 3 men of 60, 79 and 93 years old ) 8 in Modena (6 men of which two are 83 years old, two are 90 years old and the remaining 72 and 96 years old and 2 women are 87 and 91 years old), 5 in Rimini (3 women of which two are 84 and one is 85 years old) and 2 men aged 89 and 91 years), 4 in Piacenza (4 women, two of whom 78 and the remaining 84 and 92), 4 in Reggio Emilia (3 men, two of which 82 and one of 77 and 1 woman of 86 years), 3 in Parma (3 men of 37, 70 and 78 years old) and 3 in the province of Forlì-Cesena (2 women of 77 and 82 years and a man of 88 years).
In total, 6,219 deaths in the region since the beginning of the epidemic.
There are 239 patients admitted to intensive care (-2 compared to yesterday), 2,805 those from the rest of the Covid departments (+69).

After verifying the data reported in recent days, 1 case was eliminated (in Bologna) as it was considered a non-COVID-19 case.
