On the worst day that Italy has experienced since the start of the pandemic, with 993 deaths, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte interrupted the news by starting a press conference from Palazzo Chigi at 8.15 pm.
He did not dedicate a single word to those victims and the agony of their families, he did not even mention that fact. But he puffed out his chest and said: “In just one month we have doubled the contagion curve, putting the RT below one again. It is a very significant achievement. These results comfort us ». The man – forgive me the big word because we are talking about a little man – is like this: he has on his shoulders the responsibility of the third most disastrous example in the world in the confrontation of the pandemic (much worse than that of the United States and Brazil), but he he gets rid of it with a shrug of his shoulders, capable only of looking at himself in the mirror, pleasing himself to death and congratulating the image he sees reflected. By dint of admiring himself he became the copy of Charlie Chaplin in the famous scene on the world map of the movie “The Great Dictator”: a tragic speck (and in fact this dictator is very small). He does not have the world in his hands and he could not even have the ambition. You play with a boot, the tragedy is that we are all there, Italians. The little man who does not see the tragedy of the dead because he should ask himself who caused that massacre that even in the second wave is unparalleled in other countries says for the second time that he is about to have defeated the virus and rejoices: ask the applause. However, he cannot receive any, because at the same time he has tied everyone’s hands, and they cannot be shaken either in celebration or to show anger.
Thus, the premier who talks about his magnificent and winning battle against the virus reveals that there is only one obstacle to the final victory: the Italians. Yes, because it is the citizens who have caught this virus by not really obeying its recommendations, thus risking ruining its certain success.
Yesterday, for example, Conte as he had not assured on television a week before reopening schools certainly before Christmas, announced with great nonchalance that this will only happen on January 7, and not for everyone: for “at least 75%”. I’m not complaining about the change (if anything, the boys who trusted him will), having repeatedly insisted on the folly of reopening before Christmas without having ensured the operation of the school as it was not done in September. It means that finally the prime minister wanted to look at the data on infections, verifying the incredible explosion in the age group 0-19, therefore in the school population. He hoped that he would recognize the mistakes he made and now promise to put money and effort into the reopening after the holidays: “We have a transportation plan, we will diversify the entry and exit times …”. Not at all, he would have implicitly acknowledged his own mistake, which he can’t do because his tongue is twisting and a “I was wrong” just can’t come out of his mouth. Thus? The little man pointed an accusing finger at the students: they were infected by them, because when they left school instead of separating and running home they exchanged a few words out there and that way they were infected. We could put him in the top ten biggest nonsense uttered by a politician in the last century, but he strongly believes in it and will send his good boys to schools when they open again to disperse the boys, and maybe break hugs with girlfriends .

The great dictator of noantri has laid his hands on Christmas: since he is never wrong and we citizens make all disasters, he will put us in a position for our good that we do not do to others. Prohibition of midnight mass, prohibition of Christmas and New Year lunches and dinners even with close relatives if they live outside the city or in the municipality a few kilometers from your home: you will not be able to move on those days except within the country or city. Mothers and children who do not live together in that case will not be able to see each other, unless they pay heavy fines. But Conte adds his “strong recommendation” not to see each other anyway if they don’t live together even though they live in the same municipality. I imagine that he himself will not see the son with whom he does not live permanently, to set a good example for the Italians he recommends.
However, as the premier needs money, he asks everyone to give him Christmas gifts to pay the necessary VAT and therefore extends the opening hours of the stores until 9:00 p.m., without even wondering how grotesque the invitation to consumption is if then what you buy cannot be delivered at Christmas to your loved ones who should not be seen. The whole of Christmas Dpcm is built like this, without any logical or sanitary sense: it was precisely this Charlie Chaplin who believes himself to be the master of the world and does his whim. There are other brutalities, such as leaving hotels open on New Year’s Eve but closing internal restaurants at the same time as those that already close outside at 6:00 p.m. Instead of dinner, Conte forces guests to fast at the end of the year, and you can imagine how many will be queuing for a room at the hotels. If he had closed them he should have paid for them, but the little man has a short arm and that is why he closes them without closing them.
There are other pearls of the little dictator in that decree, and you will find them in the articles on today’s page. Crazy, unmotivated, irrational and dominant rules. If someone had reserved some coins for a Christmas vacation, do not deprive yourself of it: violate those provisions, organize lunch with children, brothers or parents who also reside in another municipality and do not care. You will risk paying a fine, it is true. It will cost you as much as the vacation you are deprived of. But you know what a wonderful vacation you can take from a little man like this …
