The only thing missing is the official status of the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, but now it is certain: Abruzzo will not leave the red zone on Friday, December 4. Therefore, the strict restrictions currently in force will continue to apply.
This morning, at a press conference, the president of the Region, Marco Marsilio, clarified his position: “My ordinance expires on December 3 and I will not renew it. It depends on me, from the 4th we would be in the orange zone, but this it’s a choice”. It is up to the minister who will decide after evaluating the new numbers on the positivity cases that we will send between today and tomorrow. From Dpcm the stay in the red zone lasts at least 14 days but is based on old data. I cannot adopt measures less restrictive than those decided by the minister. We will not be waging wars for a few more days in the red zone. ”
According to the rules of the Dpcm, Abruzzo should be the red zone until December 10, but Governor Marsilio aims to be able to anticipate a few days, thus managing to allow the stores to reopen for the Immaculate Conception.
Precisely for this reason, the president of the regional council wrote to Speranza today asking, together with the other regions, for a simpler procedural path to pass between the different areas. In fact, all the Regions declared a red zone (Abruzzo was the last chronologically) had the same problem: on Friday the control room will meet, after which Minister Speranza will issue the decree effective as of the following Monday.
The verification is carried out on the data of the previous week sent until Tuesday or Wednesday. This means that the measures applied are based on data that is almost a week old. Furthermore, in the case of an increase in infections, the restrictive measures come into effect within 48 hours, while in the event of an improvement, as happened with Abruzzo, they do not.
“I ask – Marsilio added – that the real data be taken into account. In the end we risk discounting the red zone measurements with data from a month ago. When it was useful we got ahead of the red zone, now I ask Speranza to speed up the times based on real data, avoiding the bureaucratic reading that would lead us to stay in the red zone until December 10 and we would be the only region in Italy. I hope that Speranza, who is a minister with whom I always speak, can welcome this by reading reality also because we will do more than the minimum necessary, which is a 14-day stay in the red zone ”.
Next, Marsilio confronted the data related to infections and hospitalizations in this area period, the red indicates how the daily positive cases have gone from an average of 682 to 514 and the number of hospitalized per 1,000 inhabitants is 0.59 less than average. national, which is 0.61. The number of hospitalizations, on the other hand, is growing slowly: 30 more patients in the last week, compared to 86 in the previous week.
