The most frequent irregularities: lack of authorization to make swabs for Covid-19 and omitted or delayed communication of positive cases.

The violations

In particular, in 15% of cases, swabs were carried out illegally and in inappropriate settings. Regarding the omitted or delayed communication of positive cases, the figure was 14% of the sanctions registered. Also note the lack of preparation and implementation of preventive plans and protocols within the clinics, such as the lack of management procedures, sanitization and sanitizing products of the premises (11%), and of technical and professional requirements in the execution of diagnostic tests . . In 6 cases, the absence of qualified laboratory technicians and the use of expired reagents and diagnostics were reported. In one case, a population screening campaign was launched, entrusted by some municipalities to a laboratory, without prior communication to the Health Authority. Other reported cases refer to the retail sale to customers, in pharmacies or even in herbalists and perfumeries, of kits for serological analysis of antibodies intended solely for professional health use and not suitable for self-diagnosis. In this context, 153 illegally detained medical devices and diagnostic kits were seized for retail sale or analysis.
