After nearly a month in the red zone, the desire to get out without the nightmare of self-certification was palpable. So this Sunday morning, despite the cold and gray day, the people of Como invaded the streets of the historic center of Como even just to walk, as you can see in the photo above taken today just before 11 in the morning. Certainly encouraged also by the fact that finally all the stores are open. The ability to go shopping and walk freely through the streets of the city itself in times of a pandemic seems like a real achievement.
All respecting the norm that foresees the use of the mask even outdoors, the people of Como enthusiastically welcomed the farewell to the red zone. Without allowing ourselves an easy controversy, it is quite evident that forcing people into the house is a draconian measure that should be used with extreme caution. More simply, it is about learning to live with a virus that will condemn us for more months. Inside the shops, which limit the entrances, there are precise rules that nobody, mainly the merchants, tries to ignore.
But it is not an assault: many are content to observe the windows that have been illuminated again today but above all they relish the never ceased need to live almost normally again, even aware that the health situation is still delicate. But the smell of Christmas and its festive breath cannot be suppressed by giving only indications that do not take into account human nature. Small daily needs that make us feel part of a community that wants to try to live without forgetting that we must still be cautious.
