The homeless man who was found dead in front of the Fatebenefratelli emergency room, in Via Castelfidardo in Milan, on the morning of Saturday November 28, was allegedly run over by two AMSA trucks. The conditional is essential but it seems that the two drivers of the waste collection vehicles have (without realizing it) overflowed the makeshift bed, near the entrance to the health center, where the 71-year-old Romanian slept.

The images recorded by CCTV cameras in the area filmed the scene: the first truck would pass around midnight, the second at four in the morning. The two drivers have not yet been questioned by investigators but the impression of the men from the mobile police station seems not to have noticed the impact.

Amsa: “Available to the authorities”

The company in charge of waste collection made itself available to the investigators: “Upon hearing the news of the death of a man on the night of Friday, November 27 in Via Castelfidardo, Amsa, expressing their deepest condolences and waiting to hear The results of the ongoing investigations report that it was immediately made available to the Judicial Authority to help clarify what happened ”.

The Tramp Who Died in Via Castelfidardo

Initially, the cause of death of the 71-year-old Romanian was unclear: the man, covered in cartoons, was seen unconscious by hospital staff around 6.45am. The call to 118 was activated immediately, but doctors could not avoid determining the death. However, one death occurred from unnatural causes: several bruises had been found on the body and the 71-year-old also had broken legs and arms.

At first the image was not clear and the policemen of the mobile brigade headed by Marco Calì, in the place with the prosecutor on duty Paolo Storari and the local police, did not understand if the death had been caused by an investment or an attack. The certainty came from the analysis of the videos recorded by the closed circuit cameras: the electronic eyes filmed various means of crossing the driveway near the makeshift bed. And he never moved from the blankets that sheltered him from the cold.
