After 14 days of analysis on the trend of the Covid contagion curve in Umbria – slow but steady deceleration – the regional Scientific Technical Committee has issued a favorable opinion for back to school at least for sixth grade students. Consequently, the President of the Umbria Region, Donatella Tesei, today signed a new ordinance that will remain in force from next Monday, November 30 to December 6. The main novelty refers to the return to the classroom of first-grade students while distance education continues obligatorily from the second year of lower secondary and for all the same upper secondary, state and secondary schools.
All other measures already taken are confirmed until December 6. including the Sunday closing of all neighborhood businesses, medium and large retail stores, food and non-food structures, with the exception of pharmacies, parapharmacies, newsagents, tobacconists and monopoly stores. It is also prohibited to operate on Sundays any commercial activity that takes place in public areas.
All activities carried out in the presence in open spaces or in closed places are suspended of recreational and cultural associations and clubs, social meeting centers, leisure time universities and the elderly. Board games, cards, billiards, bowling played in public and private sports centers and clubs are prohibited during the same period.
All recognized competitions and competitions of regional interest have also been suspended, provincial or local by the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI), by the Italian Paralympic Committee (CIP) and by the respective national sports federations, associated sports disciplines, sports promotion bodies, in relation to team and contact sports and carried out by amateur associations and companies. The performance of athletic training and preparation, even individually, is suspended for the same period, limited to athletes under the age of 18 who play in amateur and amateur teams and team and contact sports associations. It is also forbidden for everyone to use the common areas as well as the changing rooms.
