Twist of the scene. LRt’s national contagion rate drops to 1.08 and, even if 10 Regions are still at high risk, after the last ISS follow-up on the situation of Covid infections in Italy, 5 of them change color.
To date, Italy has been divided as follows:
- yellow zone: Lazio, Molise, Autonomous Province of Trento, Sardinia, Veneto.
- orange zone: Basilicata, Emilia Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Liguria, Marche, Puglia, Sicily, Umbria.
- Red zone: Abruzzo, Calabria, Campania, Lombardy, Piedmont, Autonomous Province of Bolzano, Tuscany, Valle d’Aosta.
Piedmont
The first Region to change color was officially the Piedmont, as we already knew since yesterday.
It was already announced on the afternoon of November 26 by Governor Alberto Cirio, who with great satisfaction had anticipated a direct Facebook that his region passed the “test” and was promoted to the orange zone.
Lombardy
The situation is different for him Lombardy, whose fate was uncertain until the end. After a fight that lasted for days between the Governor of Lombardy Attilio Fontana and the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza, it is now true: Lombardy officially changes its color and how Piedmont is promoted to the orange zone.
For days Fontana had tried to convince Speranza of the need for the Lombards to leave the red zone: at least ten days ago, that is, since the Rt contagion index in Lombardy had started to fall below 2.
“The Region has been completely within the parameters established for the transition to the orange zone for two weeks. Not removing the restrictions – Fontana said yesterday – means not photographing the reality of events and not considering the great sacrifices of the Lombards ”. And here, surprisingly, the Government gave the go-ahead.
“Thanks to Lombard’s sacrifices, epidemiological data was appreciated, we are now in the orange zone and we will be able to reopen the stores. Soon the decision of the Government ”, practically confirmed today late in the afternoon.
Calabria
The color also changes Calabria: the South Region also leaves the red zone for orange.
For now, therefore, Abruzzo, Campania, the autonomous province of Bolzano, Tuscany and Valle d’Aosta remain in the red zone.
Liguria and Sicily
The other two Regions that change color are Liguria and Sicily, going from orange to yellow.
The formalization of the transition to the orange zone for Lombardy, Piedmont and Calabria and to the yellow zone for Liguria and Sicily will arrive Sunday November 29, when the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza signs a new ordinance.
Instead, measures have been renewed for Campania, Emilia Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Marche and Tuscany. In fact, the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, will sign a new order expanding the restrictive measures in force in these Regions. The order will be valid until December 3, 2020.
The new map after November 29
After November 29, therefore, the new subdivision on the map will be like this:
- yellow zone: Lazio, Liguria, Molise, Autonomous Province of Trento, Sardinia, Sicily, Veneto.
- orange zone: Basilicata, Calabria, Emilia Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lombardy, Marche, Piedmont, Puglia, Umbria.
