The patients of the Montebelluna hospital will be the first guests of the Guicciardini, which officially opened its doors this morning: the Montebelluna hospital, in fact, has the most critical situation of all the hospitals in Ulss2 Marca trevigiana, given the option to leave the hospital nearby in Castelfranco Veneto covid free.
“The patients who are going to arrive – explains the general director of Ulss2 Marca Trevigiana Francesco Benazzi – They are those who have already completed a hospital career and who seem to have few mild symptoms, their stay will be short and then home care will end ”.
The rooms, with two beds and equipped with oxygen for any emergency, will guarantee an additional 30 places for regional health care. “The guarantee – Francesco Benazzi concludes – is that the health level of this structure will be very high: nurses, Oss and doctors are professionals who will guarantee, from the point of view of health, the maximum coverage for patients and families”.
The director general’s thanks go to all the medical staff present in the structure, to the Valdobbiadene municipal administration, to the Veneto region and to all those volunteers who have allowed the security and opening in record time of this hospital, closed since 1999 and that today also sees the presence of a damping point.
The mayor of Valdobbiadene Luciano Fregonese is also satisfied with the inauguration: “Today is very important for the people of Valdobbiadene. The work of a single person is not mentioned, but this result was possible thanks to months of work and synergy from Ulss2, the Ipab San Gregorio of the Orchidea cooperative and all the volunteers ”.
There will be two massive floors available to Covid patients: “This is the demonstration – concludes the mayor – of how our local reality has been prepared to guarantee greater support to hospitals.”
The management of the health personnel is in charge of the nursing coordinator Nadia Cavalli and will be divided into three shifts: medical assistance will be guaranteed throughout the day with the presence of two doctors and two Oss for each shift: “Soon – explains the doctor – There will also be a nurse with a lot of experience who has worked with me for years and who will be in charge of giving professional support to all the staff ”.
A new life is that of the “Guicciardini” who, according to the mayor of Fregonese, could remain operational even after the end of the health emergency: “We have had an open table with the Veneto region and the health company for several months. After the renewal of the 2008 program agreement a few months ago, which foresees the completion of the works within the socio-sanitary citadel in the next six months, the fate of this structure will be known ”.
The safety of the structure was possible thanks to the volunteers and the invaluable help of the extinction of the Valdobbiadene forest fire that, already during the first wave of the pandemic, made the hospital accessible: “We managed to recover two other volunteers – explains Cristian Tessaro coordinator of the Avab of Valdobbiadene – and this allows us to face the 24-hour shifts to guarantee the safety of the structure together with the firefighters ”.
Around 11 a.m. the first patient arrived at the facility that appears to be operational. Valdobbiadene also from today together with healthcare to make a contribution to the fight against Covid.
