The 66th edition of the Italian Michelin Guide 2021. One of the most anticipated events in the world of gastronomy, but also for lovers of traveling and eating well. An absolutely new presentation in terms of formula and location, this year, but that has not disappointed all its followers. In addition, this was an edition that saw the confirmation of Lombardy as the region with the highest number of restaurants that can boast Michelin Stars (59 restaurants: three 3-star, six 2-star and 51 one-star).

But even more important is that this event, which was broadcast live, introduced a real novelty: the pictogram dedicated to sustainability: the Green star – which was awarded to chefs who promote a more sustainable cuisine.

But let’s see in detail where we can eat well in Lombardy, between a truly extraordinary city like Milan and a lake view meal like the wonderful Lake Como.

We assume that all 11 three Michelin stars have been confirmed in Italy. But 3 are the restaurants “worth the trip” in the tastiest region of Belpaese, namely Lombardy: “Da Vittorio” a Brusaporto in the province of Bergamo, a city located in the last hills of the Val Cavallina; “From the fisherman” a Canneto Sull’Oglio in the province of Mantua, a place where you can really be children again; and Enrico Bartolini at the “MUDEC” in Milan, a city that continues to surprise by its constant evolution.

Winning two stars in Lombardy was the chef Davide Oldani of the “D’O” a San Pietro all’Olmo in the province of Milan. Restaurant that only had one last year and that can be an absolutely excellent excuse to visit an especially beautiful area full of must-see attractions.

Other novelties starring in Lombardy are that of Andrea Casali from “Kitchen”, immersed in the greenery of a private park on Lake Como and Takeshi Iwai from “AALTO”, in the city of Milan.

Finally, to obtain the new Green Stars in Lombardy, or those awarded by the sustainable gastronomy by 2021, They were: Pietro Leemann from the “Joia” in Milan, Davide Oldani from the “D’O” in the municipality of Cornaredo, Franco Malinverno from the “Caffè La Crepa” in Isola Dovarese and Roberto Tonola from the “Green Lantern” in Villa di Chiavenna.

We just have to organize a trip to Lombardy to go and taste the tasty dishes of the restaurants awarded by the “bible of taste”.
