MASSA-CARRARA – In Tuscany there are 1,323 more positives than yesterday (796 identified in the course of the screening and 527 of the detection activities) out of a total, since the beginning of the epidemic, of 96,028 units. New cases are 1.4% more than the total of the previous day. The average age of 1,323 cases is currently around 48 years old (12% are under 20, 22% between 20 and 39, 36% between 40 and 59, 22% between 60 and 79, 10% have 80 years or older).
Those cured grew by 4% and reached 41,345 (43.1% of all cases). The swabs made reached 1,468,342, 10,551 more than yesterday, of which 12.5% were positive. On the other hand, 4,531 subjects were tested today (excluding control swabs), of which 29.2% were positive. To these are added the 1,182 rapid antigenic swabs that are made today. Today’s positives are 52,419 today, -0.6% compared to yesterday. There are 2,128 hospitalized (45 more than yesterday), of which 296 in intensive care (2 less).
Today there are 48 new deaths: 29 men and 19 women with an average age of 81.5 years. Regarding the province of residence, the deceased are: 14 in Florence, 3 in Prato, 5 in Pistoia, 5 in Massa-Carrara (86-year-old man, 71-year-old woman, 66-year-old man, 66-year-old man and 87-year-old woman), 5 in Lucca, 10 in Pisa, 4 in Livorno, 1 in Siena, 1 resident outside of Tuscany. It is reiterated that in any case it will be the responsibility of the Higher Institute of Health to definitively attribute the deaths to the coronavirus: in fact they could be people who already had concomitant pathologies.

It should be remembered that as of June 24, 2020, the Ministry of Health has modified the data collection system on the spread of Covid-19. Positive cases are no longer indicated according to the province of notification but according to the province of residence or domicile.
The following are the cases of positivity in the area with the change from yesterday. There are 27,068 cases in total to date in Florence (365 more than yesterday), 8,441 in Prato (107 more), 8,280 in Pistoia (128 more), 6,013 in Massa-Carrara (75 plus: Carrara 33, Massa 28, Montignoso 3, Aulla 5, Fivizzano 3, Fosdinovo 1, Mulazzo 1, Pontremoli 1), 9,501 in Lucca (125 more), 13,164 in Pisa (190 more), 6,745 in Livorno (104 more), 8,925 in Arezzo (117 more), 3,973 in Siena (37 more), 3,363 in Grosseto (75 more). 555 positive cases were reported in Tuscany, but residing in other regions. There are 600, therefore, the cases found today in the ASL Center (sum of the provinces of Florence, Prato, Pistoia), 494 in the Northwest (Massa Carrara, Lucca, Pisa, Livorno), 229 in the Southeast (Arezzo, Siena, Grosseto).
Tuscany ranks seventh in Italy in terms of the number of cases (including residents and non-residents), with around 2,575 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (the Italian average is 2,334 x 100,000, yesterday’s figure). The provinces with the highest notification rate are Prato with 3,275 cases x 100,000 inhabitants, Pisa with 3,141, Massa Carrara with 3,086, the lowest Siena with 1,487.
In total, 50,291 people are isolated at home, as they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital care or do not have symptoms (350 less than yesterday, 0.7%). There are 49,610 (278 fewer than yesterday, less 0.6%) people, also isolated, under active surveillance, for having had contact with infected people (Asl Centro 17,528, Northwest 21,703, Southeast 10,379).
The people hospitalized in the beds dedicated to Covid patients today are a total of 2,128 (45 more than yesterday, more 2.2%), 296 in intensive care (2 less than yesterday, less 0.7%).
The total number of people cured is 41,345 (1,580 more than yesterday, plus 4%): 2,613 people clinically cured (173 more than yesterday, plus 7.1%), that is, they were left asymptomatic after presenting clinical manifestations associated with the infection. and 38,732 (1,407 more than yesterday, plus 3.8%) declared completely cured, the so-called viral cures, with double negative swabs.
2,264 have died since the beginning of the epidemic as follows: 831 in Florence, 140 in Prato, 176 in Pistoia, 267 in Massa Carrara, 227 in Lucca, 240 in Pisa, 141 in Livorno, 116 in Arezzo, 61 in Siena , 44 in Grosseto, 21 people died on Tuscan soil but were residents outside the region.
Tuscany’s crude death rate (number of deaths / resident population) for Covid-19 is 60.7 x 100,000 residents versus 82.5 x 100,000 for the Italian average (11th region). Regarding the provinces, the highest mortality rate is found in Massa Carrara (137.0 x100,000), Florence (82.2 x100,000) and Pistoia (60.2 x100,000), the lowest in Grosseto (19.9 x 100,000).
THE SITUATION IN ASL TNO HOSPITALS
Regarding hospitalizations for covid-19, in the Northwest Tuscany Usl hospitals there are a total of 545 (yesterday there were 538), of which 76 (yesterday were 74) in intensive care. 114 patients were admitted to the Livorno hospital, 14 of whom were in intensive care. In the Lucca hospital 105 patients, 19 of them in intensive care. In the Apuane hospital 106 hospitalized (-1 compared to yesterday), of which 23 in intensive care (-1 compared to yesterday). In the Versilia hospital 123 hospitalized, of which 11 in intensive care. In the Pontedera hospital 47 patients, of which 5 in intensive care. In Cecina hospital 28 patients, of which 4 in intensive care. At Pontremoli hospital 22 patients (stable). Finally, based on the daily monitoring, throughout the territory of the USL Tuscany North West Company, to date (November 23) there are 21,703 (+393 compared to yesterday) people in quarantine for having had contact with infected people.
