The governor Massimiliano Fedriga and the deputy Riccardo riccardi announced at the press conference (live here) the measures contained in the new regional ordinance to be signed today and effective as of midnight.
There are two chapters: on the one hand, as planned, a massive screening will be carried out in the most affected municipalities, on a voluntary basis, on the other hand restrictions valid for the entire Fvg.
“The contagion is affecting Friuli in particular, compared to the first phase in which Trieste was the most affected, and it is very widespread, even in small towns,” Fedriga explained. “The mayors of Castelnovo del Friuli, Claut, Dolegna del Collio, Paularo, Socchieve me Sutrio, whom I thank for his presence. Together with them we will implement an operation that involves all the institutions ”.
On the general front, there will be “surgical interventions, with respect to situations that are still at risk of aggregation.”
“It is a prohibition of the consumption of drinks and food in a public place, preventing taking it from becoming a source of contagion. So we recommend using public transport only if it is essential and not going to other homes to visit families other than yours. except for work or need reasons. All sports activities will be suspended, including those carried out in outdoor centers, as requested by the Coni and the different federations ”.
Finally, there will be a strong recommendation to promote smart work, in the public and private sectors ”.
“In the areas of higher incidence it is necessary to identify the positives, even the asymptomatic ones, isolating them. We hope that this measure will quickly lead to the protection of the population. Along with the six indicated municipalities, we also aim to involve residents, such as Cimolais, Erto and Casso and Andreis in the case of Claut and thus also in other areas ”.
“Screening does not interest us from an epidemiological point of view, but for the protection of the population, that is, to stop infection, isolating asymptomatic positives. The model is what has already been done Sappada, which saw us among the first, and then adopted this weekend also by the Province of Bolzano ”.
“It is clear, however, that for those who are negative, there will not be ‘all free’, but a strong sense of responsibility will still be needed.”
“The places of infection are still mainly family, work and school, where, despite the high school closing, we are seeing significant growth. Our aim? Is still that of reduce pressure on hospitals. Here too – said Fedriga – thanks to the efforts of the entire Health System and the significant expansion of the number of beds we were among the last to cross the critical threshold. However, structures and operators must be protected“.
On a possible new ‘color change’ on Friday the 27th, “I dare not make predictions. Two weeks ago the data was improving, but they put us in the orange area, “said Fedriga. “Since the last monitoring we would be in the yellow zone, while we realize that the situation is more difficult … Hence my request to the Government and the Control Room, through the Conference of the Regions, to review the parameters, so that they are as up-to-date and accurate as possible, to organize real actions in response to Covid. We also ask for predictive indicators, to anticipate and not pursue the virus. “
“I again appeal to all for a sense of responsibility, which I think has been totally denied by the opposition in Fvg, given the statements of the last weeks … But once again I renew my opening.
“We are collaborating with the Veneto region to verify the validation of the ‘do it yourself’ tests. At the moment they are not officially recognized, but if they were they would be an extra useful tool, “Fedriga said later.
“We expect a general result of these measures in two weeks – said the governor then – while from the tracking activities in the municipalities (for which another 100,000 rapid tests have been ordered), we expect a much faster result ”.
With respect to Slovenia, “I informed the government of the situation. We are concerned about the decision to freely allow cross-border purchases.”
Regarding movements between municipalities, “we must wait for the provisions of the Dpcm and the interpretations of the Prefectures, which are the governing body at the territorial level. My invitation, therefore, is to respect what is indicated by the Prefectures.”, Fedriga concluded.
