Today 1,258 new cases of coronavirus are registered in Sicily, lower than yesterday, but the positivity rate does not drop, which remains above 19% (19.51% to be precise), therefore well above the national average. The total number of certified infections on the island since the beginning of the pandemic, as reported in today’s bulletin issued by the Ministry of Health, amounts to 53,129. 45 deaths in 24 hours (1,186 in total), an absolute sad record.
There are currently 1,597 hospitalized patients, 241 in intensive care (one less than 24 hours ago), for a total of 1,838 hospitalized subjects. In home isolation, however, there are now 35,324 people. There are 292 cured patients. The new positives are distributed as follows by provinces: Palermo 420, Catania 427, Messina 94, Ragusa 61, Trapani 10, Siracusa 83, Agrigento 60, Caltanissetta 102, Enna 1.
In Italy, 28,337 new cases of coronavirus have been identified in the last 24 hours, more than 6 thousand less than yesterday, which brings the total number of infected since the beginning of the emergency to 1,408,868. The increase in victims also decreased, 562 in one day while yesterday they were 692, for a total of 49,823. The positivity rate increases (to 15 or 1%). Just over 188,000 swabs were made.
After yesterday’s decline – only 10 new patients – hospitalizations in intensive care increased again: according to the Ministry of Health bulletin, 43 new entries in the last 24 hours for a total of 3,801. In the ordinary wards of hospitals 34,279 patients are hospitalized, an increase of 216 compared to yesterday. Finally, 767,867 Italians are in home isolation, 13,942 more.
