The regional council and technicians are working to understand which municipalities will be affected by the new ordinance. The signature, initially scheduled for last night, has been postponed: time to put all the data under the lens: the main one should be the incidence of infections per thousand inhabitants.
However, this data is a few days old: it must be updated, but also purified of any distortion. The presence of a retirement home, or prison, in the municipal area can cause the data to skyrocket.
Some mayors have already been contacted by the Region and alerted, although there are still no final decisions. No one would close another turn of the screw, also because the need to flatten the infection curve is undeniable.
Someone expresses perplexity about the red zones: arguments summarized by the regional councilor Emanuele Zanon: there are small towns where there are no shops, and you already go to the nearby ones for any need, a closure would therefore have a minimal effect.
However, no contact between the Executive and the Ministry of Health. the last regional initiative, in the middle of the month, had lasted less than 24 hours, rendered useless by the decisions taken by Rome.
With cases increasing by a thousand units per day, there is no guarantee that it will not happen again this time and that Friuli Venezia Giulia, on that day, will not be in a big red zone.
