The world is about to change. Preparing for the next post-coronavirus scenario is Microsoft co-founder Bill gates, which draws a precise scene of the our daily life once the most acute phase of the pandemic is still in full swing.
For Gates, first of all, people’s approach to thinking about the future must be changed: in fact, it is wrong – he emphasizes – to ask when we get back to normal, it is rather necessary to try to understand how the aforementioned normality can change:
“I often hear people ask and wonder when we will return to a normal life. But I hardly ever notice any reasoning about what can be considered normal after a period like the one we are experiencing, which has very little normality ”.
That ‘normality’, in fact, needs to be reviewed “for many years” according to the entrepreneur, with forms of work and interaction that will undergo a radical metamorphosis.
Bill Gates warns: “This is how the world will change”
First of all, Gates observes, it will change work scenario, with intelligent work that has already revolutionized the day to day and that, in the future, will become a constant with all the consequences in terms of “Decrease in urban, rail and air traffic”:
“My prediction is that around 50% of business trips will fail and we will spend more than 30% fewer days in the office.”
Less travel and less circulation in general and, as a direct consequence, a very positive impact on the environment but “Less friends” , an aspect that Gates recognizes as very serious and for which he explicitly states that “There will be a lot to do to remedy this”:
“Means and methods will be multiplied that will allow working from home almost 100%, but at the same time we will see a marked penalty in interactions between colleagues and friends; There will be a lot to do in this regard ”.
Gates, the second richest person in the world according to Forbes, has often spoken in this period to give his opinion on the ongoing health emergency and, above all, from a vaccine perspective, of which he became a promoter and direct financier.
