There are 34,767 new cases of coronavirus in Italy in the last 24 hours out of the 237,225 swabs processed: the total number of cases rises to 1,380,531 since the beginning of the pandemic. Therefore, the proportion of positive swabs decreases. On the other hand, there are 692 victims today of Covid-19 for a total number of 49,261 deaths. Hospitalizations are falling: in fact, 10 new patients were admitted to the intensive care unit against 36 yesterday: the total of places in intensive care in Italy amounts to 3,758. Hospitalizations with symptoms are also declining: 106 today for a total of 34,063. Yesterday there were 347 new hospitalizations.
Lombardy
In Lombardy in the last 24 hours, 8,853 cases of coronavirus have been registered, raising the total since the beginning of the emergency to 366,516. The swabs performed were 44,294 (3,769,051 in total), compared to 42,248 made yesterday, the day on which 9,221 new cases of Covid-19 were registered. The dead were 169, compared to 165 yesterday.
Aosta Valley
91 new cases of positivity emerged in Valle d’Aosta in the last 24 hours, compared to 257 people subjected to swabs. Those cured are 167 and the current number of positives compared to Friday drops by 79 units, reaching 2001. The data comes from the bulletin issued by the Valle d’Aosta Region. There were three deaths, bringing the death toll in the second wave of infections to 135 (281 in total). There are 149 hospitalized in the Covid wards of the Parini hospital and other structures identified in the area by the Region (there were 148 on Friday), in addition to 11 patients (there were 10) who are in intensive care.
Veneto
There are 3,570 new infections in Veneto compared to yesterday, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 119,726 patients. This was reported by regional president Luca Zaia. Deaths amount to 3,190, 67 more than yesterday. In the hospitals at 8:00 am today there are more than 2,600 admissions, divided between non-critical area (2,321, +27) and intensive care (291, +5).
Sardinia
There are 511 new cases in Sardinia in the last 24 hours, of which 277 were detected through screening activities and 234 due to suspected diagnosis. The total on the island since the beginning of the pandemic stands at 18,089. This was announced by the Regional Crisis Unit in today’s newsletter. 12 deaths from covid in the last 24 hours for a total of 379: 5 men and 7 women, aged between 68 and 88 years. In detail, 5 victims reside in the metropolitan city of Cagliari, 3 in the province of Sassari, 2 in the province of Oristano and 2 in the south of Sardinia. In total, 343,699 swabs were performed with an increase of 3,702 tests. On the other hand, 504 patients are currently hospitalized in non-intensive wards (-22), while the number of patients in intensive care is 70 (+1). There are 11,340 people in home isolation. The progressive number of positive cases includes 5,727 (+210) recovered patients, plus another 69 clinically recovered. In the territory, of a total of 18,089 positive cases determined, 3,783 (+108) were detected in the metropolitan city of Cagliari, 2,861 (+39) in southern Sardinia, 1,466 (+70) in Oristano, 3,105 (+109) ) in Nuoro, 6,874 (+185) in Sassari.
Calabria
In Calabria, to date, 333,246 subjects have been tested for a total of 340,557 swabs performed (further tests can be performed on the same subject). The people who tested positive for Coronavirus are 13,452 (+ 425 compared to yesterday), the negative 319,794. These are the daily data related to the Covid-19 epidemic reported by the Department of Health Protection, which records 426 hospitalized (+11), 45 people in intensive care (-1), 3447 recovered / discharged (equal number than yesterday), and 217 deaths (+4).
Emilia romagna
Since the beginning of the epidemic in Emilia-Romagna, 103,064 positive cases have been registered, 2,723 more than yesterday, out of a total of 19,697 swabs performed in the last 24 hours. The percentage of new positives on the number of new tampons manufactured today is 13.8% (yesterday 11.3%). There are 47 new deaths. Since the beginning of the epidemic, there have been 5,312 deaths in Emilia-Romagna. The control and prevention activity continues: of the newly infected, 1,269 are asymptomatic identified as part of the regional contact tracing and detection activities. The new positives were distributed as follows by province: Palermo 583, Catania 625, Messina 145, Ragusa 56, Trapani 71, Siracusa 126, Agrigento 107, Caltanissetta 70, Enna 55.
