For those words, Senator Morra had been at the center of a media storm all day, with detractors such as Salvini, certainly not oblivious to similar errors, but who had never been given such treatment.

He basically said something that many Italian and Calabrian citizens think, a thought out loud – we agree, poorly formulated – a thought that comes to them in a moment of weakness, of discouragement, of anger.
Few of the “friendly” voices that have been raised in Morra’s defense: parliamentarians and his party colleagues Carla Ruocco, Barbara Lezzi and Stefano Buffagni above all. But then in the afternoon, because of this totally Italian habit of going where the wind blows, the 5 star movement he took his “distance”, thus lending his side to the propaganda of the opposition parties.
