A total of 1,634 of the 10,020 swabs processed (16% of the percentage of positives) are the new cases of Covid registered in the last hours in Sicily, where the number of positives amounts to 34,756. The data is contained in the daily bulletin of the Ministry of Health, which shows that the victims in a single day are 43 (1,098 since the start of the health emergency) and 416 cured.
The increase in hospitalizations is still limited, the current positives in the hospital with symptoms are 1,537 (+ 5 compared to yesterday), while 242 patients (+2) are in intensive care. This is the breakdown of the new cases at the provincial level: 574 in Palermo, 404 in Catania, 186 in Messina, 109 in Ragusa, 89 in Trapani, 25 in Syracuse, 82 in Agrigento, 63 in Caltanissetta and 102 in Enna.
The situation in the rest of Italy
The positives currently in our country are more than 777 thousand. Today there are 37,242 new cases while in the hospital there are 347 new patients in the non-critical area and 36 in intensive care. Thanks to the measures taken, the doubling time of cases has slowed down, but there are 18 regions that as of November 17 had exceeded at least one critical threshold in the medical area: with the current transmissibility, almost all Regions have a probability greater than 50% exceed at least one of these thresholds in the next month.
