[ad_1]

Never so many tampons in Sicily in a single day: 11,470. Of these, just over 16% turned out to be positive for Covid, which translated into an absolute number of 1,871 new cases. Few more than yesterday the number of beds occupied in the hospital by non-serious patients, which became 1,532 (+4), while intensive care remained stable at 240.

Warning: the fact that the number of occupied places in critical areas has not increased is a good sign, but it does not necessarily mean that there have not been any Covid patients whose conditions have not worsened in the last 24 hours. Because it is likely that many of the victims registered today (unfortunately there are 40 more) come from those departments.

With the 352 cured today, the current positives (that is, those who currently have the virus) on the Island reach 33,581, of these 31,809 are treated at home. The map by province: Palermo 512; Catania 441; Messina 264; Ragusa 192; Trapani 166; Syracuse 77; Agrigento 84; Enna 61.

The situation in the rest of Italy

The positives currently in our country are more than 761 thousand. Nearly 34,000 people hospitalized, plus the more than 3,700 people who need intensive care support to stay alive. The good news comes from the data of new hospitalizations: the fever for hospitals is calming down a bit with 106 new positions filled in the covid wards and 42 new positions filled in critical areas that, unfortunately, as we have already seen, are close of saturation. Unfortunately there are 653 deaths. 36,176 new cases of Covid-19 versus more than 250,000 swabs.

Quick swabs, detection continues in 50 Sicilian cities

The campaign activated by the Sicilian Region to counteract the spread of the Coronavirus on the island does not stop. Starting today and until November 23, it will be possible to perform quick swabs in drive-ins that have been installed in 50 municipalities on the island. Once again, the target identified is the school population that will be able to voluntarily and freely undergo the test.

The novelty of these weeks is the online platform (www.siciliacoronavirus.it), activated to simplify the procedure. In fact, once logged in to the portal, it will be enough to click on the “Covid19 quick buffer” button and complete the registration form by choosing the available date of the proposed drive-ins. Therefore, the platform will indicate the time slot that will be automatically generated based on the number of reservations already purchased. In the registration form, the citizen must indicate the “category of membership” that gives rise to the selection objective (teaching staff, non-teaching staff, students and their families).

If the swab is positive, the citizen will be immediately subjected to the molecular test for the necessary confirmation, as required by current health protocols. The Musumeci government initiative is carried out in collaboration with Anci Sicilia and local administrations and with the support of regional civil protection and volunteers.

The drive-ins will be operational in the following cities: Licata and Grotte, in the province of Agrigento; Caltanissetta, Gela, Niscemi, Delia, Mussomeli, Riesi, Mazzarino and Sommatino, in the Nisseno area; Enna Bassa and Nicosia, in the province of Enna; Cefalù and Campofelice di Roccella, in the Palermo area; Ragusa, Comiso, Ispica, Modica, Pozzallo, Scicli, Vittoria, Acate, Chiaramonte Gulfi, Giarratana, Monterosso Almo and Santa Croce Camerina, in the province of Ragusa; Siracusa, Rosolini, Carlentini, Noto, Avola, Pachino / Portopalo, Lentini and Francofonte, in the area of Siracusa; Trapani, Alcamo, Campobello di Mazara, Castelvetrano, Erice, Marsala, Mazara del Vallo, Partanna, Salemi, Paceco, Castellammare del Golfo, Custonaci and Valderice, in the province of Trapani.

Permanent Board of Health, protocol signed by Councilor for Career and trade unions

A permanent health table to prepare proposals, identify new development strategies and monitor the health of Sicily. This is the provisions of the protocol signed in Palermo by Councilor Ruggero Razza and by the representatives of Cgil, Cisl and Uil, respectively Alfio Mannino, Sebastiano Cappuccio and Claudio Barone and by the retired unions Spi-Cgil, Fnp-Cisl and Uilp -Uil, respectively Maurizio Calà, Alfio Giulio and Antonino Toscano.

The document that establishes the ‘Table’, recalling in particular the lengthening of the life expectancy of Sicilians, foresees a synergy between the department and the social partners also in the elaboration of the “proposals related to the planning of health policies and the promotion of common actions and campaigns on specific objectives aimed at improving, accessibility, and efficiency and effectiveness of the healthcare offer. ”Among the objectives of the new organization, of course, is the monitoring of the health conditions of frail people, starting with the elderly, of those who suffer from chronic diseases, disabilities and lack of self-sufficiency, to also imagine possible proposals to modify the territorial functioning.Health facilities and services. In the ‘Table’ -which will meet quarterly and is established with a council decree -, in addition to the representatives of the councilor and the unions, the delegates will also sit os of the nine Asps.

During the meeting, the issue of the Coronavirus emergency and, in particular, critical issues in nursing homes and nursing homes was also addressed. Since last spring, Sicily has provided itself with a vademecum related to this type of structures reserved mainly for the elderly, so it was agreed to integrate and update the document with specific interventions to facilitate relations between the guests of the structures and their families. Finally, it was decided to verify the application of the rules of the formulary also through the activation of specific controls by the Asps. Unions and department heads will meet next week to carry out more checks on the Covid 19 emergency.
