His father Francesco (also positive, like his wife) says: “He had a high fever and it was hard for him to breathe. How could this happen?”

from Antonio Di Bartolomeo

Papa Francesco found him in bed Tuesday afternoon: cold, lifeless, on the top floor of his house in North Udine. Pierpaolo Gianfreda, 49, had had a fever and shortness of breath, all symptoms of Covid-19. And he had tested positive for the virus a few days earlier, following a swab done with his mother, Francesco says. “He was taking tachipyrine, as they told him, but he had a 39 fever.”
In the family outbreak, the youngest had the worst, the one with no health problems, net of an umbilical hernia for which he had undergone surgery months before. Rocky physique, he loved sports, particularly rugby, and hiking in the mountains, even of some difficulty, as can be seen in the photos on his Facebook profile where many greeted him.
It was the carabinieri who made the findings. Nothing suggests causes other than natural ones. In any case, the parents hope that all the necessary insights will be made, because according to them this was an avoidable death.
