Coronavirus infection spreads in Sicily. In the last 24 hours 1837 cases, an absolute record, and with about 1,300 fewer swabs than yesterday (9,479 in total), with a positivity rate shot up to 19.38%, when today in the rest of Italy the figure is of 14.5%. A very bad sign, as the victims: 44, even this figure never came, with the deaths on the island from the virus exceeding 1000 (1015 in total).
Hospitalizations also increased compared to yesterday: 23 in the ordinary regime (yesterday 4, for a total of 1,528) and thirteen in intensive care (yesterday 3). These are the data province by province: Palermo 378, Catania 426, Messina 324, Ragusa 132, Trapani 291, Syracuse 77, Agrigento 96, Caltanissetta 72, Enna 41.
Unlike, a certain slowdown in the epidemic curve in Italy is confirmed. Today there are 34,283 new cases (32,191 yesterday), but with 234,834 swabs, 26,000 more than yesterday. The death toll is still very high: 753 today against 731 yesterday. The total victims are 47,217. Rise also of the healed, more than 24,000 (never so many).
Encouraging signs, on the other hand, of hospitalizations: intensive care units increase by 58 units, less than half compared to yesterday (+120), and are 3,670, while ordinary hospitalizations increase by 430 (yesterday 538), for a total of 33,504.
