The number of people currently positive for Covid in Italy in the last 24 hours has increased by 9,358 people: the number is significantly lower than on Tuesday (it was 16,026). The increase in patients cured or discharged in the last day also affects the figure: 24,169 (on Tuesday it was 15,434). The total current positives in Italy is 743,168. The total number of cured is 481,967.
The incidence of positives on the number of swabs performed in the last 24 hours continues to decline: it is 14.6%, almost one percentage point less than on Tuesday, when the figure was 15.4%. The swabs performed on the last day were 234,834.
Intensive care alarm. 42% of intensive care places are occupied by Covid patients, or 12% above the critical threshold of 30%. An almost stable figure compared to the day before, but now affecting 17 regions out of 21: a week ago there were ‘only’ 10. Seats in medical rooms occupied by Covid patients are 51% nationally, compared with a threshold of 40%: it is also a stable figure, but it now affects 15 regions, compared to 12 7 days before.
