There are 27,354 new coronavirus cases recorded in Italy on November 16, compared to 152,663 swabs made. Deaths increased by 504, bringing the total to 45,733 compared to 45,229 yesterday. Intensive care units grew by 70 units to 3,492, while hospitalizations increased by 489 units to 32,536. Lombardy and Campania remain among the regions with the highest increases in cases, in both cases more than 4 thousand units, while Piedmont has 3,476 new positives.

In Veneto another 1,966 infections

1,966 Covid infections have been registered in Veneto in the last 24 hours, for a total of 103,842 infected since the beginning of the epidemic. This was announced by Governor Luca Zaia, anticipating the data in the daily bulletin. Since last February 2 million 571 swabs have been performed in Veneto, including molecular and rapid analyzes; the latter in particular are 592,500. The pressure on hospitals is not easing, where some 2,300 patients are hospitalized in non-critical areas and intensive care. The balance between hospitalizations and discharges in the last 24 in Veneto is almost the same: 48 hospitalizations, 45 discharges.

In Tuscany at least almost 54 thousand infected

Another 2,433 new cases of Covid – average age 47 years – in Tuscany (+ 2.9%), a region that currently registers a total of 53,851 positives. This was announced by the Region, also explaining that the number of hospitalized patients rose to 2,061, 53 more than yesterday (+ 2.6%), of which 284 were in intensive care (10 more, equal to 3.6%).

And sadly there are another 36 deaths, 19 men and 17 women, with an average age of 83½ years, bringing the total number of dead patients to 1,915. In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, people who have come into contact with the virus reach 81,836. Compared to yesterday, those cured grew 3.4 percent and 26,070 have been registered since the start of the pandemic. Excluding the control swabs, 37.4 percent of the tested subjects tested positive.

With the latest tests, swabs performed in Tuscany since the start of the health emergency in February amount to 1 million and 347,451: 15,527 swabs more than in the previous bulletin, of which 15.7 percent were positive, 864 rapid tests . New cases represent 3.1 percent of the previous day’s total. Most of those infected continue to be cared for at home or in health hotels, because they have mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment or because they are asymptomatic: there are 51,790 people (1,490 more in the last twenty-four hours, plus 3 percent). The number of people isolated by positive contacts rose to 44,297.
