Antonella Polimeni is the first woman to hold the highest academic position at Sapienza. “Personally – the new rector writes in a passage from her electoral program – I am motivated by the desire to learn more than to inform, from the desire to experiment, assuming the risk of being wrong, with the desire to correct oneself and, above all, with the conviction that the necessary decisions cannot have a future if they are not the result of common work. In my academic and professional career I have always favored active listening, dialogue with everyone, without distinction: teachers, staff, students. The tools are the delegations based on the competence and not on the level of education to which they belong, the networking, the commitment to seek the requests for synthesis and integration between the different sensitivities. La Sapienza will grow more if it is capable of perceiving the richness of its pluralism and, if I may say so, its biodiversity, thanks to the strength of its unity, respect for specificities and autonomies. And for that reason, if you wish, I make myself available to work with all of you in the next six years, with confidence in change and without fear of the future.
