Limit meeting opportunities, and therefore possible coronavirus contagion, on holidays and pre-holidays, within large commercial structures frequented especially during the weekend. This is the goal of the new Lazio Region ordinance, announced yesterday and signed this afternoon by President Nicola Zingaretti. “I know very well that they are new restrictions and sacrifices but they are made to combat the virus and block the contagion curve,” said the Democrat. But let’s see in detail what it brings.

The maxi stores close

First point: on holidays and the eve of holidays, large sales structures are closed, according to article 15, section 1, letter I of the autonomous law No. 22 of November 6, 2019 (Consolidated Law of Commerce) regardless of the type of activity that is developed, Except for activities aimed at the sale of food products only, pharmacies, drugstores, tobacconists and kiosks. A measure that goes hand in hand with the closure of shopping centers already established by the Dpcm on November 3, but which now also adds the limit to large commercial structures from 2,500 square meters onwards. An example? Big stores like Ikea, Decathlon and the like.

Markets close

Second point: on holidays, in public or private areas, retail trade activities are closed in the markets mentioned in Legislative Decree March 31, 1998, n. 114, with the sole exception of activities for the sale of food products. Hobbyist markets and markets for the sale or exhibition of their own works of art and intellectual works of a creative nature and the like are also closed. That’s why Porta Portese also closes.

Commercial activities excluded from the closures provided for by this ordinance or from the closures established by the Decree of the Prime Minister of November 3, 2020, are in any case obliged to guarantee: vigilance to verify compliance with interpersonal distances and the prohibition of collection, quota methods / staggering of entries, in order to ensure the numerical limits of the presence of customers and employees, the security and prevention measures identified in Annex 9 of the aforementioned First Ministerial Decree of November 3, 2020 ” Guidelines for the reopening of economic, productive and recreational activities of the Conference of Autonomous Regions and Provinces of «October 8, 2020.” The ordinance will remain in force until November 30, 2020.

“This ordinance is the result of a strategy and a spirit of prevention, children of an epidemiological and health situation as confirmed by the daily data that in our region is still under control but it remains serious and must be stopped.” Zingaretti still comments. “However, what we must not allow at all is for the virus to take hold. Let’s not forget that we are living with an enemy that is as invisible as it is aggressive, so using prevention as the first weapon to combat it certainly makes us more aware and stronger”. .
