The EU College of Commissioners has given the green light to sign the contract for the vaccine against Covid 19 with Pfizer-Biontech, up to 300 million doses. This was announced by the spokesman for the Community Executive, Eric Mamer.
Strengthen the mandate of the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (Ecdc) to make “recommendations in real time”, including the “declaration of an emergency situation at EU level”, with the activation of common response mechanisms . . It is one of the proposals to lay the foundations of the Health Union, illustrated by the Health Commissioner, Stella Kyriakides, who foresees, among other things, the creation of “a working group that will mobilize quickly” within ECDC for the support of Member States.
Proposals to lay the foundations of the Health Union will be debated in today’s session of the College of Commissioners, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von Der Leyen, wrote previously on Twitter.
