He is one of the familiar faces of the maxi-drug operation that ended in 2019 with more than 50 people under investigation and 35 arrests: last July, Ervis Hushi, 36, was sentenced to 12 years in prison. But since then he has never gone to his cell: due to the coronavirus emergency, in fact, he asked and managed to pass the sentence under house arrest, at his girlfriend’s house in Desenzano del Garda.
In recent days, the Supreme Court has also rejected the appeal of the Brescia Prosecutor, who instead requested a transfer to prison. “The Supreme Court, also in light of escalating infections, we continue to read Brescia today – established that the protection of the collective health, of the prison population and of the convicted is the priority ”.
No prison, at least for now
So there is no prison for Hushi: residing in Calcinato, he was part of a criminal organization of Italians and Albanians dedicated to the sale of cocaine and drugs, with international transport from Holland. By the accusation, Hushi would have been in charge of the distribution in certain areas of the province: the carabinieri had captured him with half a kilo of drugs and immediately arrested him.
