Some Regions they go from yellow zone to zone orange. It was well known that the alert level assigned to the Italian territories was provisional. But perhaps the change was not expected to come so soon. It all depended on the last report from the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, broadcast on the night of Monday, October 9.

The outlined report an alarming image, with health services close to overload in all Italian regions and not just those that have turned red or orange.

According to the first rumors that emerged in the press, they were at greater risk of changing areas Tuscany, Campania and Veneto, come Liguria, Umbria and Emilia-Romagna, all currently in the yellow zone, towards the possible displacement of the orange zone – the most probable – or in the red zone – a difficult but not excluded scenario – to limit the increase in the contagion curve. Meanwhile, on Sunday, South Tyrol decided to proclaim itself a red zone.

The delay was due to data validation activity, for which some Regions would have required more time. But now the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza is ready to issue the necessary ordinances to formalize the change of zone of the Regions that, according to the data, turned out to be the most risky at this time.

Regions that have become the orange zone

He was president of the Abruzzo Region Marco Marsilio anticipate the inclusion of some Regions in the orange zone, where you cannot leave your city of origin except for commercial reasons and the bars and restaurants are closed.

It is about Liguria, Tuscany, Umbria, Abruzzo and Basilicata.

The news still lacks official character, but according to Marsilio it was Minister Speranza himself who communicated the names of the Regions that entered the orange zone, thus joining Puglia and Sicily.

At risk are still Veneto and Campania, but also Emilia-Romagna, with a transition from the yellow zone to the orange zone that many now take for granted or, as part of a more extreme intervention, in the red zone.

The data, note, is provided directly by the Regions to allow ISS and the Government to identify the necessary steps between the three different areas. The difficulties reported by the Regions for data collection are part of the reason why the most recent ISS monitoring report was released a few days late.
