The rules for tampons change (and become clearer) in Piedmont. Given the complicated situation of the second wave of Covid-19, the Piedmont Health Directorate and the Department of Infectious Diseases and Emergencies have indicated some priorities to doctors and pediatricians.
Automatic isolation of positives (and quarantine of close contacts)
First of all, in the presence of a positive subject, the indication is to activate isolation (by uploading the data to the regional Covid platform) and then to organize the quarantine of close contacts.
Swabs for close, symptomatic contacts, or those hoping to “break free”
Another priority refers to the guarantee of diagnostic tests (antigenic or molecular) to symptomatic subjects and molecular to close contacts of positive subjects who live with fragile subjects. In addition, the test must also be activated with priority for the revocation of isolation measures, with privileged channels respectively for health professionals, people who perform public utility functions, other people who perform work activities not subject to suspension or smart -working.
No tampons for asymptomatic contacts, unless you have ties to fragile subjects
Asymptomatic subjects with possible positive contacts are quarantined (current estimated time 14 days) without swab. While the asymptomatic subject in close contact with a confirmed case who frequents or coexists with fragile subjects needs a molecular buffer to enter quarantine.
If this buffer is negative, the quarantine will end as scheduled (currently 14 days). If positive, the subject will go into isolation, with separation to preserve fragile subjects.
There are also a series of automatisms:
a) The NEGATIVE result of the swabs (molecular or antigenic) is also communicated by SMS
b) The NEGATIVE result of the swabs (molecular or antigenic) is also communicated via SMS with a message of completion of isolation and predetermined measures
c) The insertion of the swab request in suspicious or Covid-compatible subjects automatically generates the fiduciary isolation measure, which is also communicated via SMS
d) The insertion of close contacts automatically generates the quarantine measure, which is also communicated via SMS
e) The inclusion by laboratories or doctors of positive results automatically implies the default order issued by the CSI platform with the acquisition of the protocol number, also useful for INPS purposes;
f) If the swab is negative, the suspect or COVID-compliant subject’s fiduciary isolation and close contact quarantine are automatically revoked.
