(ANSA) – ROME, NOVEMBER 06 – If Trump loses the presidential election, he would no longer enjoy preferential treatment from Twitter in case of offensive or misleading posts. This is confirmed by the social network in Bloomberg, reiterating that the less rigid rules apply only to world leaders in office. The news is part of the tough battle between Twitter, which is censoring Trump’s tweets in which they misinform about the vote, and the tycoon, who in recent hours has attacked the microblog again calling it “out of control.”
Twitter applies the rules less restrictively with prominent figures such as heads of state and government, following the principle that public opinion has an interest in knowing the thinking of political leaders even in the case of controversial messages. For this reason, Trump tweets that are deemed misleading are tagged but not deleted. But as a former president, like Obama, Trump’s Twitter account will face sanctions for all users. In addition to the cancellation of tweets, they also include account blocking until permanent suspension. (HANDLE).
