As of today, Friday, November 6, the new restrictive measures decided by the government with the last DPCM (Prime Minister’s decree that will be in force until December 3) come into force to try to contain the new spread of the coronavirus. The restrictions provide for the division of Italy into three areas, depending on the severity of the local epidemiological situation: a red, an orange and a yellow, from the most serious to the least serious.
The greatest limitations are in Lombardy, Piedmont, Valle d’Aosta and Calabria, considered “red zones”. Apulia and Sicily, on the other hand, were included in an intermediate risk band, the so-called “orange zone”. All other regions are considered “yellow areas”, that is, areas of the country where the virus circulates, but where the epidemiological situation is considered less serious.
Let’s see what is possible and what cannot be done in Lombardy, Piedmont, Valle d’Aosta and Calabria.
Can you get out of the house?
Only for work, necessity and health reasons. And take advantage of the services of businesses that will not close, such as kiosks, hairdressers, barbers and laundries.

To take advantage of the activities that remain open, including supermarkets, you must stay in your municipality of residence or address. It allowed “motor activity near the house.” Basically you can take a walk, but without going too far from home, with the mask and respecting the physical distance of five feet. The same goes for walking your dog.
Do I have to fill out the self-certification?
The Ministry of the Interior has made available a self-certification form that must be completed by both those who have to travel for work, health or necessity reasons during the curfew in force throughout Italy from 22 to 5, as well as those who, for the same reasons It should be done during the day in the “red areas”. The form can also be completed at the time of the police check.
When should I wear the mask?
The mask should always be carried with you and should always be worn indoors other than your own home and outdoors, except when you are really alone. In the workplace, masks should be worn when it is not possible to respect the distance of at least one meter. People who are doing sports activities, children under six years of age and those who have pathologies or disabilities incompatible with the use of the mask itself are not obliged to wear the mask. However, it is “strongly recommended” to use the mask even when you are in your own home with people who do not live together.
