Covid, WHO: Virus seems mutated, mink infection in Denmark

Cases of coronavirus infection contracted by mink in Denmark also concern the World Health Organization (WHO). “We are aware of reports from Denmark of several people infected with mink coronavirus, with some genetic modifications to the virus. We are in contact with the Danish authorities to find out more,” WHO said in a tweet.

In the country, where the first infections in skin mustelids were registered months ago, the cases of contagion in humans are worrying. Last month Denmark started slaughtering millions of minks in the north of the country, but now it appears that they intend to continue the slaughter to eliminate the country’s 15 million minks.
